What courses should I take if I want to become a doctor? (See details)?
Question by Jose: What courses should I take if I want to become a doctor? (See details)?
I am 18 years ancient and have just refined high teach. While attending high teach I completed a notebook science & information technology curriculum. By the side of with the notebook courses I took I also took honors Math (Pre-calculus Honors) and English(English 4 Honors) with science ever year. I kept excellent grades with my GPA being around 3.5. When I started, that was what I wanted to do but now I wish to go into the health check field. I wish to be a doctor. My post-graduation plans are to go to a local technical college (http://www.tcl.edu) for in this area two years and transfer to a further teach. I have done some research and learned a few things in this area preparation for this career but am unsure what kinds of courses should I take at this technical college.
Is it going to be more hard being that I come from a low income family? Only my dad works to support us.

Hello.
Best thing you can do is find an advisor and talk to them ASAP. This is THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU CAN DO. They will map out your schedule for you.
You will need to take one year of:
- biology for majors
- general chemistry for majors
- organic chemistry for majors
- physics
And perhaps a semester of biochemistry, calculus and/or statistics at some top. This depends on where you apply to teach.
It is perfectly fine if you attend a tech teach and transfer to a 4 year college. You just need to do very well. Anyone that tells you that med students can’t go to a tech college or a community college first is certainly NOT in health check teach and has no thought what they are talking in this area. The other vital thing is that the 4 year university has to be able to accept these courses for credit. Some 4 year places may not accept credits from that house. This is why you need to talk to an advisor as soon as possible so you dont waste your time and money.
Research is excellent, but it better be presented or published.
Once you’re at college, you need to keep your GPA at 3.5 at a minimum. Its a uncommon game and you need to dominate. Its getting harder and harder to get into health check teach.
Excellent luck
