Anything else you want to do? The problem with IT is that every company has only a few IT personnel. My rommate and his friends got 4 year degrees in IT/MIS and none of them do IT work. I worked for a 21 branch bank and there were 3 IT people. Other jobs at huge places had no more than 5 IT people.

You should prefer telecommunication engineering rather than IT/MIS. Every corporation has restricted MIS/IT professionals, where you might have lesser chances to grow.
But, if you earn telecommunication engineering in 2-5 years, you can smoothly earn more than $ 45K, even. It also match with your experience….
