I need help deciding on college courses! Electrical Eng or Computer Information?
Question by Matt P: I need help deciding on college courses! Electrical Eng or Notebook Information?
Hi, I want to do something with my life that involves computers. I do not want to have a job where I’m programming machines or in other words an “industrial” type job. It just doesn’t sound appealing to me. I have the choices between a Notebook Information Technology Degree, Electrical Engineering Degree, or Notebook Science. These are all associates degrees also, so would I need to pursue a bachelor’s in any of them? I plot on moving to Charlotte, NC with I end whatever I do. I just want to land a excellent/excellent paying job with I end college. I don’t want to find out with college that I want a job and I can’t get it because I don’t have the right degree. Any advice?

I’m not 100% sure, but for the most part, Electrical Engineering and Notebook Science Engineering are 4 year degrees while IT is a 2 year program.
If you delight in solving the “in’s and out’s” of MS windows or distress shooting how to get a printer to work on a wifi network or figuring out how it get a hard program to install then there is a excellent opportunity you will delight in IT.
If you like programming computers to go functions such as saving pay role information or collecting data that has been in the least captured from an assembly/manufaturing floor or developing code for a microprocessor used in a cell buzz or writing software for application software that you buy at the store, then Notebook Science Engineering (CSE) would be a excellent match.
If you like understanding how things work such as components in your stereo or designing the CPU in your notebook or figuring out how to run high voltage lines to/from a inner power grid or designing a system and programing a contrivance to go actions like lift and object or take a picture based upon sensors and signal being received or coming up with and designing a better/less expensive remoter car door/starter key chain then Electrical Engineering might be a excellent fit.
But, in all cases, mathmatics, creativity and problem solving are a must (math to a lessor degree for IT)! BUT WHATEVER YOU DECIDE; Make sure it is based upon your interest and not on the pay.
