Question by ANTHONY P: I am interested in getting a certification in A+ Network+ where do I go?
I am interested in getting a certification in A+ Network+,
including other professional IT titles.
I am a novice in Information Technology, My Questions are:
(1) which certification will be more flattered( in sense of
getting a job), one from Houston Community College,
Houston, Texas, the CompTIA certification or some institute? Please help!
(2)Which is the best certification board?
(3)Which IT course area do you reckon I should concentrate in?
Thankfulness.

The A+ and CompTIA certifications are industry standards, so it usually does not matter which institution you get them from. Therefor, a community college is a fine house to study for these.

IN these days of outsourcing it is best to concentrate on IT that you need to be present for, so that the job is less likely to be sent overseas. So, notebook installation, maintenance and repair are excellent, and these are what the A+ and CompTIA are for.

What do you reckon? Answer below!

You should do the Network + on your own time. If you know a small in this area networking read the book, practice on a sim test (fravo is pretty excellent) take the test and save a lot of time. A+ is longer but look at the book and sims and choose if you need a instructor for that. I would say that you should go in class for your MSA 3 tests and if you find it simple go for the MCSE (7) tests. Although in the real planet it will not give you more then a foot in, it is a excellent basis for job type of work. Working in the field will be the best reference for a job even if you start by pulling cable to get your foot in the door.
All certs help, a degree helps more, AS or BS. Work exper. helps even more. NO job in I.T. is as simple as the certs or courses make them sound as we cross over into everyone elses domain of skills. ie: vendors certs, microsoft, cisco, they all work collectively to make a network (among others)
