Q&A: Why does Xbox 360 seem to get EVERYTHING before PS3?

Question by Thomas: Why does Xbox 360 seem to get EVERYTHING before PS3?
Even the new NCAA FOOTBALL 11 demo that came out today, they, of course, get it first and PS3 gets it later today. Why does Xbox 360 always get DLC like map packs before PS3. Don’t say they get it first because Xbox is better or PS3s are gay. I know PS3s suck, but it’s what my dad bought and it’s all I have.

I don’t want to get into a PS3 vs 360 war again either. It’s getting ancient.

To answer your question, most of the time it’s just because Microsoft have paid the publishers of these things to have “timed exclusivity”, that is, to get these things first, a few days, sometimes a week, sometimes a month or more, before the PS3 does.

Sony do this too sometimes, but not as much as Microsoft.

Because microsoft (maker of X-Box) has contracts signed with diffrent game makers saying they get it first. It’s just a way for them to make money because they can say they get it first.

Take Call of Duty: Black Ops for example. X-Box has a contract with Activision (Developers of CoD.) saying they get all there stuff first a month early. I believe the Microsoft Activision contract expires in 2012. Witch they’ll probably renew it then.
