With training you’re assigned to a unit. If/when that unit deploys, you install. With the active part of your contract is over (usually 3-4 years later), you use your GI Bill and it’ll pay your tuition, some expenses and a monthly stipend.

But basically, you go to bct then ait(teach for MOS) then sent to your first duty station. You will be sent overseas if the unit you are assigned to is being deployed. They do not release out soldiers to be deployed, they send specific units.
with the army what happens is you sign a contract with them for a couple years and they send you off to vital. with vital you are then sent to AIT where you will be learning your MOS (combat MOS’s don’t go from what i’ve heard). with AIT you will go to what ever unit the army assigns you to, and depending what unit that is depends on where just so you go. i know people who were sent all over the planet, while most of them were going to permanent military bases, a couple were going to get their training to prepare them for going to Afghanistan as their units were already deployed.
as for paying for college they do help you during your enlistment as well as with, although if you start schooling during you will have to do it online as you won’t be able to have set times off duty.
When you join the Army you ship out to Vital Combat Training or BCT, then MOS training (AIT) then you are assigned to a unit. That unit will (or won’t) install some time while you are assigned to the unit. Chances are your unit will install within six months of your arrival. But then again, they may possibly have just returned from a deployment and won’t install for a further year. During your term of enlistment, whether you are deployed or not, you can use the Tuition Help Program to attend college in the evenings, weekends or lunch as your schedule allows. With you leave the service you can use the GI Bill to complete your college education.
