Question by funky_bubblegum: Questions in this area military training, College, etc..?
I dont know where to start..Here goes.
My ambition is to be a surgeon. I also always wanted to do the military trainning ( and I may possibly also be interested in some kind of job in the military… not sure since I dont anything in this area how it works - i only know the uncommon branches).
I was wondering if with high teach ( I have 2 years left) I may possibly do the vital military training and then go to college (maybe when i get my liscence i may possibly be a surgeon in the military?)? How would that work?
I really dont know much in this area military schools either - my family is into high education so what kind of schools are they . So please enlighten me.
Also, when you do the vital training you have to enroll and does that mean they can call me for anywhere anytime even if i was away at college? What are the rules?
thankfulness

If you end teach first and get your M.D., you can direct fee to Captain and not have to attend BCT at all. If you join up first, you can be deployed even though you are in teach so that might be something you want to deliberate.

It depends on what you sign up for.
If you just sign up for the reserves, then you go to vital, then go home. At most you might miss your first fall semester, but then you can start up like a normal student.
If you sign up for active duty, you’re in the army, and not college for but long you sign up.
The best send would be to just go to college and end med teach now, then worry in this area the military.
Yes, you can get called up even if you’re in college. Your college is just on hold while you’re deployed.
All branches of the navy have what is called the ROTC (Recruit Officer Training Program) as well as a scholarship i know for sure in the navy and marines that is worth up to $ 180,000. You also get $ 100/ month for going to college where you go all depends of your private preference and what house will accept the scholarship there are not many schools that I know off that don’t accept it. Also vital training is an 8 week program depending on what branch you go in. As far as whether or not they can call you up at anytime even during college I don’t know. What I do know is that when you sign a contract for the navy you normally have a 2, 4, 6, or 8 year contract. What happens you are always on active duty for the first half of your contract then the second half is inactive where you go back to civilian life but if there was ever a major crisis they can call you back. Hope this helps
