Do college summer training programs look good on your college app.?

Question by Sp!ffy.: Do college summer training programs look excellent on your college app.?
For example, they have summer programs for highschool kids at nearly every college…for example, Harvard, Stanford, Auburn, etc.

Are those programs even worth it and are they seen as a huge bonus for kids who want to go to the same college as the summer program?

I was reading them and the only bonuses they say they give are: a college experience and college credits. Are they just a waste of money?

Yes. They look excellent. It shows that you’re committed to responsibility something over the summer other than sitting in your acquaintances basement drinking beer (first thing that came to mind haha).

Can you show your commitment and interest in education in simpler, less expensive ways? Yes. Taking classes at a community college looks fantastic as does volunteering, internships, you know the deal.

It looks fantastic if you’re applying to Harvard and you went to Harvard summer camp. But it’s not a deciding factor.
