As a university professor, I can say that when we get students who have taken summer courses at community colleges, it is a certain plus for those students. It shows us that (1) the student is a go-getter and was willing to spend the summer studying, (2) the student is spending his or her time wisely by earning academic credits during the summer and will, eventually, graduate early, and (3) if the student makes excellent grades in those summer courses at the community college, then the student will most likely do well later on at the university. Therefore, it certainly helps to take community college courses during the summer.
