Question by nikepolamalu: what’s a excellent entry level security certification for a college student?
I’m a sophomore in college and I’m majoring in Finance and minoring in Information Technology. I’m hoping to find bank job that focuses on IT down the road. I know that CISSP requires experience (that i dont have) and it is geared towards professionals. Is a compTIA security+ a excellent cert. for someone like me?

Yes it is really. I am getting one for myself. Honestly, I would look at job boards and postings and see what other requirements are. Try to find a few companies you want to work for and go with certificates they require.

It’s honestly worthless, but since you’ll never get the CISSP… Your career path is simply not headed that way… It’s the best you can do.
