Question by nikepolamalu: what's a good entry level security certification for a college student?
I'm a sophomore in college and I'm majoring in Finance and minoring in Information Technology. I'm hoping to find bank job that focuses on IT down the road. I understand that CISSP requires experience (that i dont have) and it is geared towards professionals. Is a compTIA security+ a good cert. for someone like me?

Yes it is actually. I am getting one myself. Honestly, I would look at job boards and postings and see what other requirements are. Try to find a few companies you would love to work for and go after certificates they require.

It’s fairly worthless, but since you’ll never get the CISSP… Your career path is simply not headed that way… It’s the best you can do.
