Q&A: Does taking community college courses increase my chances of getting in college?
Question by chainlink08: Does taking community college courses boost my chances of getting in college?
I am currently a high teach senior, and I am taking some college courses at my community college. I applied to Georgia tech and got deferred, meaning I will have to send them my first semester high teach transcript. The problem is that I got a C in one of the classes (I got a B in the other one), and I am worried that it may make me look terrible. But, I got all A’s(including AP classes) in my high teach classes.
Does the college class I took make me look terrible, or is it like an AP class where it impresses them for even taking it?

Taking a college class shows initiative. If you are able to excel at the high teach level while taking a college course, then the colleges may take you into consideration.
A “C” and a “B” on a college course won’t make you look too terrible, taking into account it’s a separate category of classes. But even so, they will mainly look at your high teach grades, you probably won’t be penalized for getting those in your classes (you passed them anyway).
Hope this helped; excellent luck!
