Question by Jessica: I’ve failed out of college and now years later want to be an Ultrasound tech. Where do I start?
X-ray tech would do too…I just want to be able to have a excellent job.
Waiting tables and tending bar is not what I want to be responsibility when I get grown-up. I just need a small direction, and advice. I see a lot of programs out there and lots of prerequisites, I thought tech schools you didn’t need to previously attend college. Do these schools offer the courses? HELP ANYONE!!!

Your local community colleges and hospitals nearly always have programs that train you to become health check technicians. Some certify, some don’t, but as long as you are trained you are allowed to sit for the required certification tests, so that is irrelevant, but, vital.

Usually, these schools just require a High Teach diploma. Friend your local community colleges and hospitals and question for information on any programs they may offer in Ultrasound/X-ray technician training.

Excellent Luck and I hope this helps!

Go talk to an advisor at the college. Clarify what happened. They may admit you on academic probation. I know of people who had to go talk to people at a college with flunking out and they were admitted. I would also assume that you will have to take prerequisite courses, like anatomy, for Ultrasound. Also talk to financial aid for help. You will need to fill out the FAFSA at http://www.fafsa.gov to be eligible for grants, loans, and work study.
