Question by gurl938: Is it better to receive Pharmacy Technician training through Walgreens or a Community College?
I have been accepted to a 6 month Pharmacy Technician program at my community college where the tuition will cost $ 5,000. With researching online, I have found that Walgreens and CVS will really train you on the job and get you certified. The program at my college offers help in job placement. Do you reckon employers prefer that I went to an actual college to earn my education or training through a drugstore?
I hope to eventually work in a hospital.

You should certainly do the drugstore program. This path has several advantages over a community college. It will save you money, give you hands-on training, and high and mighty you pass the certification exam, provide you employment straight away. You can always go online later on and reverse your teach history if you want. What matters in the end is that you’re certified and making money.

While community college grads are looking for a job, you already have hands-on experience and working.
