What qualifications/college courses can I do that will improve my chances of getting into university?

Question by sam: What qualifications/college courses can I do that will improve my chances of getting into university?
I’m 20 and from the UK, and want to get in to a excellent university and study International Relations. But, my A level grades are only CCD and it’s not enough to get into the higher rated unis.

Are there any one year college courses that I can do that will provide me with a qualification acceptable to the better universities, or is retaking A levels really the only option?

If you wait in anticipation of you’re 21 you may possibly maybe do a one year access course. Or you may possibly take an Open University course and do well.

A-levels aren’t the only way. Alternatively, you may possibly retake your A-levels at night.

Look at the websites for the universities you’re interested in. They often have information on “alternative qualifications” or “mature students”.
