Question by Hannah T.: Does any university in California offer summer courses for international students?
I’m plotting to visit CA this summer (for 4 weeks I guess) and I’d like to do some English courses there. I know I should look for language schools, but I prefer university courses. I know universities in Europe do that. It doesn’t have to be English language courses, it can be anything, like Creative writing or Art…anything.

You can see if something in the schedule fits with the dates you will be in CA. I know most courses run more then 4 weeks.. most are on a 6 week structure..
Excellent Luck

Yes UC Berkeley offers courses for international students over summer (registration starts now!) But like the previous person said, courses are usually six weeks long. You might also want to look into UC Berkeley Extension. They have a fantastic international student program (my roommate was in it) and it’s not just English language courses.
Also, the residential hall I live in works with ELS Language Center, and we have 4-week sessions that go on every month for the entire year. Although it’s not owned by the university, we are 10 minutes away from campus and you live with UC Berkeley students, so you get a excellent thought of how college life is in the U.S.
Excellent luck!
