Q&A: What is the best online, self-paced, good priced, accredited college for a BS in Information Technology?
Question by tobyman: What is the best online, self-paced, excellent priced, qualified college for a BS in Information Technology?
If anyone has any experience with online colleges, please help! My mom wants to go back to teach, but since she is working full time at a private teach she cannot take classes at a campus. She needs a perfectly online degree, but with the freedom to go at her own pace since certain times of the teach year she is swamped with work. She prefers to get a Bachelors in Information Technology. Also, a lot of the schools we have found run in this area twice as much as local universities, is this normal for an online course? They also require 60 more credits than local universities- do the count credit hours differently? We want to make sure it is a reliable qualified college. She is lost searching among hundreds of schools online and I’m not much help since I’m confused as well. I don’t want this frustration to make her give up going to college. Any information would be momentously appreciated!

Look into your state universities. Many of them offer online programs (and IT is one of the best subjects to learn that way); they’re fully qualified, you’ll get that reasonable in-state tuition (with perhaps some added fees for online assets but not horrible ones), you won’t be scammed with ridiculous numbers of credit-hours, and the diploma won’t scream “unreliable online program”.
Added benefit: if she enrolls at a nearby state university, then really going to the physical campus is not a fantastic hardship-which might be a consideration if there are any unforseen difficulties.
