Q&A: Should I go to a community college first in order to become an electrical engineer?
Question by Sam: Should I go to a community college first in order to become an electrical engineer?
I am 23 years ancient. I have an associates degree in electrical engineering technology. I have worked as an electronics tech for 3 years and I want to go back to teach in hopes of becoming an electrical engineer.
I am not sure if I can afford to go to a 4 year university and was taking into account taking community college courses instead. Will this be a waste of my money? What courses should I take?

It is possible to get an Engineering degree by responsibility the first two years in community college, but few schools allow this.
A better option for you would be to get an Engineering Technology degree (BSEET) or a degree in Industrial Technology all ears on Electronics (BSIT). Many (most?) Engineering Technology and Industrial Technology Schools are set up as 2+2 programs and have agreements with community colleges.
