Question by Jo: Attain Pharmacy Tech Cert in Texas w/o courses?
I’ve heard of a few people in Texas who studied some books then just paid the registration and application fees to get their certification, is this really possible? I’ve been going to college to get a notebook science degree since the college I go to didn’t have the courses available. I didn’t have money to pick up and go so I was kind of stuck. Now they have them but I don’t have the $ or time to start a further career path. Any advice on this would be momentously appreciatied!

Pharmacy Technician Registration in Texas requires national certification unless you have been continuously employed as a pharmacy tech oveer 10 years or are in a county with a population less than 50,000 and are granted exemption by the Texas Board of Pharmacy.

In order to take the Certification Exam you must have some training. This can be conducted through a pharmacy under the direction of a pharmacist or in a teach program.
