Question by Future 34: If i am canaidian will it be harder for me to get into michigan state?
okay i am 13, I live in canada, and i play running back on a youth football team, and i have a dream to play in the nfl, so by the time i turn 18 i am going to chase my dreams by going to teach in michigan, but there is one thing holding me back my teachers say that it is harder for canaidians to get into a american teach and i need to get 80- 90′s average to be accepted… is this right? all i know is that i want to take buisness and management courses and play in the ncaa so i can either get a scout to notice me or so i can try out for the pittsburgh steelers, some one please help me, if you cannot provide certian answers then please give me advice.

your teachers are right, but not just so. you virtually need an 80-90 average to get into any state college in America. but the excellent thing is, that you’re only thirteen, and you have some time to pull up your average. i lived in Ontario and i am currently going to college at USC. pull up those averages and you can make it huge! best of luck.

What do you reckon? Answer below!

You need over 3.5 GPA to even be considered.
The fact that you live in a further country does not matter.

Michigan State is hard to get into because it is one of the top public universities in the entire state of Michigan. They get a lot of applicants, so competition is really tough. Same goes for University of Michigan. its just tough in general

Dont limit yourself to Michigan State. apply to other schools too (when the time comes of course)

if you are serious in this area being in the nfl you shouldnt just be focusing on michigan state.

There are a lot of other schools and even community colleges that can help you get into the nfl. Work and study hard, dont worry in this area where you are gonna go.

It is right that it takes an A- average (3.5-3.7) to get into Michigan State in general, but if you are really that excellent at football, they will take you no matter what. I don’t reckon it will be that much harder for you because you are Canadian. You are only 13 and you’re already thinking in this area college. That’s just so the kind of person they want.
