Question by tinkerbeth: How to become an elementary teach instructor in CA?
I go to Ashford University, they only offer early childhood, would this be a excellent fit for this career? Also, they have a have a sister college that offers certification in AZ, does CA accept AZ certification or would it be best to attend a instructor preparation program in CA for certification. I have been responsibility so much research and can’t seem to get a clear cut answer. Thankfulness!!

You’re gonna need a BA in Elementary Education. Early childhood won’t get you that degree.

  2. Donald B says:

Unlike most states, you cannot major in elementary teaching in California. You must major in an academic subject and in your 5th year take education classes and student teach. Teaching is a graduate subject as 5 years of teach are required for a teaching credential. AZ certification will not automatically give you California certification. Each state has specific requirements for their certificate.
