Does it look good on college applications to take community college courses over the summer?
Question by California Girl: Does it look excellent on college applications to take community college courses over the summer?
While still being a high teach student?
Because i’m plotting on taking chemistry and physics at my local community college over the summer going into junior year. The reason for this is because i want to fit in other AP classes during soph and junior year. Advice?

i’m not sure if it will look excellent on your college application
but it is beneficial to get over few classes during the summer to save money and time
i’m a small bit confused,
what AP classes do you plot to take?
if you take AP chem and AP physics during high teach and pass the AP tests,
it would look better on your high teach transcript than to take it during at a comm. college.
chem and physics AP tests are WAYYYY cheaper than to pay for it..

Community college classes look fantastic on your college applications because they prove you can do college-level work. But be aware that community college science classes may not be as excellent as the ones at a fixed four-year college. Try out with the four-year college you plot to attend to be sure they will accept the community college classes for transfer credit. Four-year colleges can sometimes be picky in this area what community college classes they will accept for credit. But, even if they don’t, you’d be way ahead when you took the same classes at the four-year college. Also be aware that many, if not most, college physics classes require calculus as a prerequisite.
It’s not too soon to start looking over colleges to see which one you want to attend

And don’t forget university sites on Facebook.
Some of these sites have blogs where you can question specific questions in this area the university.
I couldn’t place in direct associations to some of these because Answers.com only lets you have ten associations. Cut and paste the address into your URL bar.
A excellent GPA and SAT scores are not enough by themselves these days to get into a excellent teach. You need to be able to show you’ve participated in extra-curricular activities: Student body president, editor of the teach newspaper, ROTC colonel, playing an instrument in the teach orchestra (or better yet, a city-wide orchestra), first house in a county or state level science honest, first house in a state or national writing contest, a summer spent abroad in a foreign student exchange program, participation in a biased battle, volunteering, a summer internship with a company, president of the teach’s Key or Lions club (public service clubs), a leading role in a teach or community play, captain of the teach debate team, captain of a sports team, starting a small business on the Internet (reckon eBay store). All of these things make your application stand out from the crowd. Classes taken at your local junior or community college can demonstrate you are ready to tackle college-level work. It goes without saying that you need to take every AP class your teach offers.
