Complications in Qualifying for Work in UK?
Question by Matt: Complications in Qualifying for Work in UK?
I’m interested in seeking employment in the UK and I, sadly, know nothing at all in this area the system in house for qualifying.
I am a 21 year ancient US-born citizen currently working as a software developer. I’ve had my contemporary job for over three years, and prior to this I have been working under a guide on projects for in this area three years as well. I’ve been actively caught up in software development for a very long time and I have an extensive understanding of notebook networking and servicing and a general knowledge of notebook hardware.
With that mentioned… I don’t have college certification for my field; I’m beginning my studies, but I’ve only started within the last month. All I have is work experience and references. I started my contemporary job while in my last year of High Teach.
I want to get a fresh start on my career in the UK, but I’m daunted by what appears be a system that only applies to vastly skilled (vastly qualified) workers.
I know very small in this area the process, or even if I’m eligible, but my goal is to secure a financially independent and stable feature of life for for myself in the UK with the possibility of citizenship in the future.
I really delight in my career professionally and personally and I like the challenges it presents, but can I make it in the UK and for that matter… Do I even qualify?
I’d desperately like to know what to do next… Please help!
Thank you!

Sorry but as a US citizen you will find it harder than most to find a job here in the UK. That is because of EU laws which state that citizens of the EEA (European Economic Area) take precedence where job vacancies are concerned. But, it is not impossible for you to be able to get a work permit and you already know in this area the vastly skilled bit. You can find out more in this area the criteria, and categories, for coming to work here at this government Border Agency site…
