They will admit you over someone who hasn’t taken college courses and has a slightly higher GPA than you. (ex. 3.8 student with college courses would be accepted over a 4.0 student with no college courses.)

It’s also necessary to take courses like that if you want to get into an Ivy League teach.

It’s also a lot cheaper to take the summer course.
The actual college course can be nearly 3 to 4 times as expensive.

AP Courses also help you get into better colleges.

Yes, colleges have become so competitive that often you’re looked down upon for “taking it simple” with only honors classes. As long as you can handle the work load, I would say take a few. But these classes can do more than make you look excellent to univiersities. If you do well enough, you can opt out of those classes in college and save yourself some money by not having to pay for those hours.

Depends. If the courses you took aren’t vital to your degree (for example, if you took math courses but are plotting on being an english major) than they may not mind, but if you are taking courses that are vital to your degree (e.g. you are taking math courses and are plotting on being an engineer major), than they may not accept the credit for what you took because they want you to take their courses. Also, some schools simply don’t accept credit from some community colleges.
If you are just wondering for admissions, than it doesn’t hurt to have that down on your application. They won’t reckon as vastly in this area them as IB or AP classes you take in high teach, but they will take notice.
