Question by Rob H: Is it ethical for foreign students to take college courses in their native language?
I’ve seen a lot of students from other countries (Russia, Germany, etc) who speak their native language fluently and take - for instance Russian I, II and III - for college credit to boost their GPA and clearly ace all three courses.

Should this be allowed by American universities? Is it ethical?

It doesn’t seem ethical. but question yourself,
if you went to Russia and you had an opportunity to take english,
because maybe you struggled so much with the other courses in russian,
would you not sign yourself up for the bird course?

People sign up for classes they are overqualified for all the time, because they know they are getting simple marks. this is no uncommon.

above and beyond, plenty of lifelong english speaking people take english courses and struggle because even college students don’t know how to write and denote properly anymore.

Yep, it comes back around when they have to take English. If they’re excellent at both, then Kudos to them.
