Universities in the Philippines are amongst the best not only in Asia but also in the world. The list of colleges and universities below are all equipped with the most sophisticated and state-of-the-art technologies and the best educators in the archipelago. As the third largest English-speaking country in the world, Philippine graduates are amongst the world's most competitive and productive.
1.) UP – University of the Philippines

The best university in the Philippines is the University of the Philippines. UP Diliman in Quezon City is the flagship of UP system. This institution is Home to the “Iskolar ng Bayan” and the legendary Pahinungod known in English as Oblation. As th leding educational institution in the country, UP offers 94 graduate and undergraduate courses. Many research centers in the UP System have been recognized by CHED or the Commission on Higher Education as National Centers of Excellence. UP Diliman has a population of 25,000 students.

2.) ADMU – Ateneo De Manila University

Ateneo de Manila University is one of the oldest and leading educational institutions in the Philippines. It was established in 1859 and was named after the first educational institution in Rome - the “Atheneum”. ADMU is where Dr. Jose Rizal, the Philippine national hero, attained his degree in Bachelor of Arts. ADMU is one of the largest universities in the Philippines with a population of 9,000 students.

3.) DLSU – De La Salle University

10.) PLM – Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila

Completing the list of the 10 best universities and colleges is the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila which is based in Intramuros, Manila. This university, which was established in 1965, now has 12 colleges and a graduate school in Law. A-one-of-its-kind institution, it is the first university to be funded by a municipal government and is also the first of its kind to have its official name in Filipino.
