You dont have a opportunity at a decent IT job these days without a real degree. Go to a four year university or youre wasting your time and money.

I’ve been in IT for nine years, here’s some relevant info to your situation:

You don’t need a college degree, but, you will never be able to advance to the higher level jobs within your company. I’ve noticed that the people who started without a college degree have a very hard time quitting in order to be unpaid college students or take PT classes while having 3 young children at home.

There are some IT jobs that will not hire you without the various certifications. A house might require the A+ for example and say you have the higher and tougher MCSE, it doesn’t matter to them. They still want the A+ due to client requirements.

The irony if these IT jobs is that although many require you to have these certifications before you start, they nearly always offer to pay for them with you’ve been hired even though, presumably, you already have them.

I don’t know just so, but I am pursuing a web developer certificate from a community college (I already have a bachelor’s degree) and my impression is that a job with an associates degree will get you maybe $ 15-$ 20/hr. If you get a bachelors degree, the bucks will get MUCH larger. For a degree in networking, I would guess $ 35-40/hr to start. This is just my guess from working in the IT field as a software developer. Don’t know much in this area the networking side. I would recommend speaking with a counselor at the community college and maybe one at a university. Excellent luck!
