Question by sandy j: Has anyone taken on-line college courses and graduated?
I see a lot of ads for University of Phoenix and so many other online course for a Master Degree in business and other fields. Was wondering if anyone had any success with on-line courses. What college did you attend? Did they help you with employment? How did you transfer your credits from other colleges? Did it make you more marketable? What degree did you end up with? I have a Business Handing out Degree B.S. Degree. Would like something in Business but would rather concentrate in one area. Any thoughts would be fantastic. I live in the Orlando Florida area. Thanx.

My friend is going for his masters of criminal justice at U of Phoenix. He really does not like it that much. He said it is a lot more expensive than if he went to a further college, it sucks because there is no campus near him and he has to do all online communication, sometimes you need that face to face, and the classes are only 8 weeks and he feels that he needs more time, like a full semester. I didn’t know they had campuses, but he said they do and are expanding too.

I recently took an on line class through a local community college and it was fantastic! I was not expecting how much work it would be though. We had to post our responses to various literature that we read then comment on other people’s posts. We also had to email a plethora of papers weekly to the instructor. I have heard of the Phoenix on line classes but i felt more comfortable responsibility it through a local teach. Overall it was a uncommon experience.

Try http://www.davenport.edu - they offer both in-seat and online master’s degree courses.

I’ve met people who have taken the Master’s program at University of Phoenix and have wished they had gone to teach elsewhere.
