I am presently taking online courses at Villanova University and I also teach at an online university. I find that you must have more disipline to take courses in the online environment. It is a fantastic way for busy people to get certifications. The down side don’t get the same kind of interaction from the instructors as you would in a mainstream classroom.

I am responsibility online courses to earn an associates degree in criminal justice. It really is worth checking out if you really aren’t able to go to classes at a set time. Be careful though not all online colleges are legit. Be sure to do a small checking up on them before you commit to one.

The cons are that the classes can be expensive and a lot of the online schools are just diploma mills that are not qualified which means no financial aid and it means the credits are worthless and won’t transfer. The degrees are not respected in the workplace so you basically paid a lot of money for a worthless degree from an unaccredited teach.

Try out out distance learning opportunities at your local community college or state university. The class will be qualified, the cost reasonable, the credits transferable (make sure before signing up its for credit and not a “private enrichment” type non-credit class).
