Question by Kimmie: What is the best option for paralegal certification?
I want to get into a paralegal program but there are so many uncommon options. There are trade schools, community colleges, universities, etc… what would be best for me? Right now I am thinking community college because I reckon the pricing of it and the availability of it is so much better (not to mention much quicker). I have an appt. at a tradish type teach today but I am not too sure how credible those are. Can anyone help me?

What employers look for in a paralegal varies from house to house, so you need to do your research in the job market you wish to enter. Two things to keep in mind are that you probably should attend an ABA-approved teach and that most (but not all) employers prefer a paralegal with a degree of some sort. Certificate programs are generally useless, but in many areas you will need to be certified (which is not the same thing) to have any hope of a job. Try out the requirements to sit for the certification exam to make sure your program will suffice.

Aside from your research into your area job market, it would be a excellent thought to speak with several employers to establish the reputation of the schools you’re taking into account. Again, all this advice varies by area of law and region of the country, so you really need to do your research.
