Q&A: What does information technology include?

Question by whateva.dood: What does information technology include?
I plot to study IT in UK, but I am not really sure what does this term include. I am going to an interview which requires my portfolio, but I don’t have one. I know a small bit of HTML coding (still time to learn more till the interview) and how to work with MS excel. And I plot to learn the very basics of C and C++ language. You reckon that would be enough? This college does not specialize in IT, it’s just one of the courses.

At my University the IT degree offers the following ‘specializations’ that you can choose from:

Networking & Routing
Network Security & Safeguard
Programming & Database Management
Web Development

the Notebook Science degree at my teach is the best choice if you’re interested in programming but.
