Pros are it is super convenient to do at home and you can usually go at your own pace. The cons would be that you have to be very driven and stay on task, and also some aren’t very credible. People are just now getting used to the thought of online colleges and it may not look as reputable or “as excellent of an education” as going to fixed college. I know a lot of colleges do online classes and you can also do fixed classes. You may possibly do your gen-ed online while responsibility your focus courses in class. That would save some time.

Well I never did an online University but I reckon Virgina Tech is one… I have taken online classes… and I loved it! But if you need actual hands on help with math or science then that would be a con… the pros in this area online courses/teach is that it’s basically self passed and you don’t have to drive any where with these gas prices!!! lol
Pro would be convenience.
Con would be you must be self motivated.
A further con would be the cost - online programs cost way more.
A possible pro — see if a local community college offers online classes. You may be able to get a excellent chunk of those credits for a LOT less and still have the convenience of online.
A possible con — even though many online colleges are qualified, many of those accrediting bodies are not respected by grad schools and hiring institutions. So you need to question around in the field you want to enter to see if the teach you want to attend has accreditation that is RESPECTED in the field. The teach will tell you everything is fantastic — they want your money. But you don’t want to spend all that money — and it’s ALOT — only to find out your degree won’t get you anywhere because no one will really hire a grad from that teach.
Pros are covered by earlier respondents.
The main con is the risk of choosing a college with poor or worthless accreditation and spending excellent money on a virtually worthless diploma. Take care that you choose a properly qualified college whose diplomas are going to be accepted by the universities you will eventually apply to.
Oh the best online university is undoubtedly ourselves. Our degrees are worth every penny /dollar you pay for them. But then we would say that, wouldn’t we?
Oh, and we are qualified by the IAFU. (Look them up.)
