Question by hearts_and_thoughts_2003: Is it a terrible thought to get a LPN certification?
I have been told that an LPN is a terrible way to get into nursing. I have applied for training at Job and Family Services and this is one of the things that they would allow me to get for free…if I qualify. I’ve been told it’s not a excellent thought. The classes are at a vocation tech center and not a college. Does anyone have any experience or advice on this matter?

I went to a Vocational Teach for my nursing as an LPN. It was fantastic..no problems & no problems getting a job.

LPN is a license, are you talking in this area a CNA which is a certification. I am an LPN when I started I was on the waiting list for both and the LPN called me first. I don’t regret being an LPN, but I wish I would have went for my 2 year degree RN. I have always said I would go back, well life happened and 15 years later I still haven’t. My advice to you is go for the RN. If money is the issue there are many uncommon grants financial aide and such that would be able to help you pay for teach. Excellent Luck!!!!
