In Texas, you get a degree in a subject, then get certified for elementary ed by taking the ASEP test(s). The tests are also known as the TExES and ExCET tests. Each college/university calls it a uncommon thing. For example, at UT, you would major in Early Childhood to Sixth Grade Generalist Certification and get your Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Applied Learning and Development. Just go to the schools websites that you like and try out out all the uncommon info. Excellent luck!
