What kind of mathematical skills are usally requested by university courses?

Question by An Italian Guy: What kind of mathematical skills are usally requested by university courses?
basically i reckon i like maths and i guess i am reasonably excellent at it..but for example i reckon that my knowledge of maths is restricted to the application of concepts and formulae.. i don’t know reckon i sometimes have a genuine understanding behind formulae/concepts..so what university course may possibly value my mathematical skills??? how can they be applied in faculties?

Well, your skills do not sound like skills to me, and I agree you probably do not know the first thing in this area math. You have to learn math, really learn it, not just use specific concepts and formulas. This is no problem though, even people who reckon they are excellent at it realize just how incompetent they really are when they get to college, everything is at a very uncommon level.

Even if you were terrible at math, still choose whatever you want. I find it hard to advise you given the vagueness of your likes, try math I guess, or engineering, or physics. See if it works for you.
