Question by Jhjj J: Is it harder to take online college courses?
I’m pregnant, and I have a son, and I can’t go to the teach, so is it harder?? If so, how?

I reckon it really depends on the person. I’ve taken online courses and found them to be much simpler than my real courses. You have to be self-motivated and not bone idle, because online courses are very simple to forget in this area.

The main difference is the lack of instructor-student interaction. If you need face-to-face conversations and verbal communication, online courses are not for you. I’d say try at least one course and see how you like it, and if you feel it suits you, try a full semester!

I am currently taking 2 classes at a time at online. The way the classes work here is from Tuesday in anticipation of the following Tuesday is when you have your assignments for each week. A semester is 10 weeks long. I am currently on week 6 of semester 3. I like having college courses. I have a family, job and 3 kids, so it is a lot simpler than having to go to a campus. The best thing in this area it is that if you are a self-motivated person, you will do just fine. The lack of face-to-face communication and “hands on” teaching tools that are available in class are the only downfalls. A discussion board has to be posted to (which is just a house to interact with the students and talk in this area and discuss the assignments and readings for that week) and has to be done each week. A seminar also takes house which is basically a huge chat room in which the students in that class and the instructor chat live with either text or voice (professor only). I would recommend taking online courses at least once, just to see how you like it. The difficulty level really depends on the person, I reckon.

ALSO: The books and everything are included in your tuition and you can keep them. Also, depending on the class, may expensive programs are free. I am taking IT classes, and I have received in this area $ 1500 worth of software for free. They are the real thing, not trial versions.
