old enough to take college courses? ?
Question by Rawr : old enough to take college courses? ?
I am fourteen years old, I just finished high school through Penn Foster, and I want to do some college courses. Am I old enough to?
My mom thinks as long as I have my high school diploma, I am ok, but I am not sure. I do have my high school diploma. I was thinking about taking a few on the computer.
I want to take psychology, therapy, and counseling. I want to be a psychologist, or a journalist, So I might take a journalism class.
Thanks in Advance.

As long as the school in question doesn’t have an age requirement then you’re old enough. Having the HS diploma should be sufficient preparation.
I’d suggest you pick one of the traditional colleges that teaches online and take a couple lower level courses such as freshman composition, US and World history, lower maths, and lower social sciences to get a feel for the college level work requirement.
If you start with freshman composition, the papers you have to write in the other classes will be easier for you. College level writing is different from HS level writing.
Freshman comp at Brigham Young is a good example. http://ce.byu.edu/is/site/courses/description.cfm?subject=38&course=ENGL115College%2520Writing%2520and%2520Readingpversion
Another example (and less expensive) is at Louisiana State University http://is.lsu.edu/coursefactsheet.asp?nid=301&Rubric=ENGL&CourseNr=1001&Version=H
Just make sure that you pick good colleges to do your coursework from.
