What computer programs will I need to use for University Engineering Courses?

Question by scientecguy: What computer programs will I need to use for University Engineering Courses?
I’m thinking of heading to U of T to do mechanical or aerospace engineering. Do they use AutoCad, and programs as such? I want to know, because I’m thinking of getting a new laptop, and I am favouring a MacBook Pro, running Boot Camp if necessary.

Also, if you are an engineering student at U of T, how do you like it?
