Tough Admission Procedure for Seeking Admission in Engineering Colleges

Getting admission in the best engineering college is the dream of millions of students across the country. However, a disproportion between available seats and numbers of applicants, the colleges have to adopt a strict admission procedure so that the deserving students can get admission in the college of their choice. Students who wish to seek admission in best engineering colleges in Haryana or even other parts of the country must be aware of the latest admission process and eligibility requirements. It is possible that students might find little variations in the admission procedure amongst colleges but more or less it remains the same.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria

The process of admission in any of the engineering colleges begins when students meet minimum eligibility criteria. To apply for admission to B.Tech course, the student must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at 10+2 level. Also, in most of the cases, the student must have secured at least 50% taken all subjects together.NOTE: The minimum eligibility conditions are not rigid and they might vary from one college to another.

Common Entrance Examination

With increased competition amongst students it is not possible for institutions to select students merely on the basis of eligibility criteria. To make sure that the quality of educational system is maintained entrance exams are conducted both at national and state levels. The All India Engineering Entrance Examination is conducted across the country and students are ranked on All India basis. The rank obtained in this exam is valid for admission in most of the engineering colleges in India.

Along with this, entrance exams are conducted at state level by state boards and universities as well. Depending on the rank obtained by the student in the entrance examination, he can get admission in any of the colleges affiliated to the university.

Counseling Session

Students who successfully clear the entrance examination are now set to attend another round known as the counseling session. For the counseling session students are called according to their ranks. If you have a good rank then the odds of getting admission in college of your choice are high. Students going for counseling round should do some preparation beforehand. For instance, you should explore details about different colleges and try to find out which one is the most suitable. On the counseling day students are given admission in an engineering college and they can relax waiting for their college to open.
