Q&A: How much does it pay to teach part time at a community college?

Question by ericrsss: How much does it pay to teach part time at a community college?
I just finished the automotive technology program at my local community college. I excelled in the program and worked as a teachers aide while I was going to school. Now that I'm finished and have earned a few ASE certifications I have been offered a job teaching a class there. Anyone have any idea what it I can expect the pay to be like. I have already accepted the job, as teaching at 21 looks good on a resume, but if it pays well that will be a huge bonus.

I'm surprised - usually they require at least a masters degree to teach. Anyway, it pays like crap. Expect to make less than $ 2,000 a class teaching part-time - that's $ 20,000 a year if you can get 5 classes a semester.
