Question by Maria: How simple is it to get excellent grades in science courses in university? ?
I’m in Grade 11 right now and last year my average was 96%. I want to become a family doctor, and I know it’s going to be a very hard journey. I’m just interested to know, does being a excellent high teach student mean that you get excellent marks in university? I know the average mark for a first-year science class is 60%, and the average student’s marks drop 15% by first-year university. How hard is it to get excellent marks (80%+) ?

A 60% is barely quick, professors usually don’t fail half the class. None of my intro science classes had a class average that low. I had no distress getting A’s in the intro classes, and anyone who really is interested in the classes should do just fine. It’s the upper-level courses that get to you.

How you did in high teach has nearly nothing to do with how you will do in College. I have had friends who got sound a’s in high teach flunk out of college and others who did just enough to get by in high teach go on to get a PhD.
