Not that I would (i don’t take online courses) but seriously, wouldn’t it be quite simple to cheat your way through college by taking online courses? I mean, so many answers are online anymore. What’s the point of online courses?

Probably, but why would you pay to take courses and then cheat your way through them? You are paying for an education, which you would not be receiving.

a lot of people do do that, but if you post the questions on here, you will more than likely to get copyright infringment emails. and the question will be deleted however if you google it you might be able to find the answers through different sites although it’s wrong, and not proving your intellegience some people do do it.

It’s not “cheating.” You still have to do the work, and it’s actually harder to cheat, because most professors who are savvy enough to run an internet course are savvy enough to check your essays for plagiarism.

Also, most online courses have monitored exams (for example, they must be taken at the campus where you are enrolled) so you do need to have learned the material.

The “point” is to allow people flexibility in their schedules, and to make more money for the school, and to fill in gaps in their curriculum (it’s easier to find a teacher for a class or two online than one who can come to the school at the same time every week).

Go online and see if you can find a solution to the following problem

The solution of the system -Tu”=f; u(0)=a, u(l)=b

can also be obtained by adding the solutions of the two partially inhomogenous systems

    -Tu1″=f; u1(0)=0, u1(l)=0
    and
    -Tu2″=0; u2=a, u2(l)=b

The first system is solved using the Green’s function, te second using elementary methods. Compare with the solution obtained under (4) above

Online courses are for people who want to add to their knowledge and skills or simply enjoy them as a recreational activity. Taking an online course is perfectly valid in itself and not a form of ‘cheating’.

If you mean that you cannot properly be tested in an online course, that is not necessarily true. Multiple choice tests can be time-limited and essays can be checked for original content.

Getting answers online also applies to regular courses so there are many systems set up to check for plagiarism, etc .

In short, there is nothing wrong in using online resources in your research. The problem comes when you are simply copying answers and many of these can be picked up if the college has the right software.
